Question about parking

Posted in: Arrowhead Ranch Phase 2
I just received a letter from the association because my son parks in front of our house. Let me quote the rule book from September 19 2006.

Section F. Parking ?–

5. On-street (curbside) parking of vehicles by residents is prohibited except when the entire driveway is being used for the parking of operational vehicles.
a. If additional on-street parking becomes necessary after meeting the above condition, then such parking shall be in front of the resident's own property and as far from any intersection as possible (in no case less than 25 feet).
b. When such on-street parking is necessary, any such vehicle shall not be parked there for more than 24 hours without being utilized for transportation.

The vehicle is used every day for school or work and our driveway has two cars in it. How does this not meet the above rules?

Thank you.
Parking Problems

Here is how I see it Anonymous. My guess is that you do not use your garage to park you cars in. If you parked your 2nd most valuable assets in your garage then your son would have the driveway available to park his car on. Any unnecessary parking on the street and outside your garage leads to crimes that are easily prevented when they are in the garage. Nobody can easily steal or vandalize a car that is in your garage. Pedestrians and especially children use the sidewalk and it is much safer when there is not cars parked lining the streets as well as it makes the streets safer to drive on. I think our neighborhood looks much more valuable to home buyers as well if they don't see that the street is a parking lot. One suggestion I have is that you put the things in your garage in an inexpensive storage unit and put your expensive cars in your garage.
