Crime Alert - February 2003

Hello neighbors,

Today, I received a call from the president of the Manordale Farms Civic Association, Dawn Schott, about two incidents of note in her neighborhood recently.

* A car was stolen in the neighbor's driveway in the middle of the night. He had taken up the habit of leaving the keys in the car. He eventually got his car back.

* Perhaps more frightening- another neighbor got a call from a man calling himself, Lou Just, from American Water Technologies - which according to the police doesn't exist. Mr. Just said he needed to come to her house to check her water quality. He then proceeded to ask her questions about her security system and whether she had a dog ... She got suspicious and called the police who are quite concerned and are pursuing the matter. They fear that this caller was setting her up for a home invasion - which as you know has happened several times in the Pittsburgh area. So, please be careful. Contact the police, if you have received a similar call.

* Thanks again to the moms who answered the research surveys. Carrie has nearly the minimum number of completed surveys needed for her study, however, she can still use more. If you need a new survey form or have questions, let me know.
