Hello, Neighbors!
Can't believe that summer has unofficially come to an end and that school is back in session! What an exciting time of year! To that end, we have several topics on which to update you.

Annual FERA Business Meeting

The Annual Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 1, 2003 beginning at 7:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Church in Export. The final agenda will be forwarded to you soon. Please mark your calendars and plan on coming to the meeting to find out more information about our neighborhood and community!

FE Neighborhood Garage Sale

The Garage Sale has been scheduled for Saturday, October 4th from 8:00 a.m. to noon. Ads will be placed in some local newspapers stating that it is a neighborhood garage sale with a variety of items for sale, including furniture, toys, clothing, etc. Participants are asked to share in the cost of advertising (usually under $2.00). We will collect the money on the day of the event.

FE E-Directory

The updated directory is in its final phase of review prior to distribution. It is slated to be released no later than the first week in October. As a reminder, this year will be the first year that we go "paperless" with an "E-Directory". Administration time & cost, as well as timeliness and quality of information are a few of the major impacts in going to a computerized version. For those who don't have access to a computer, hard copy versions can be purchased. The cost will cover photocoping charges.

FE Moms

Franklin Estates Moms was launched this Summer with a "Play in the Park" series in which our children played at a different local park each week. It was an enjoyable time and we got to meet some new neighbors and acquaintances!

In order to determine the future of FE Moms, a survey was distributed to moms of children ages infant through 5. From the responses, there were no common interests or schedule availabilities among the participants. Therefore, at this time, FE Moms will go on hiatus. Maybe in the stark cold winter or next summer with "Play in the Park", we can arrange to re-start a formal group. Halloween Parade

It's that time of year when little feet go marching down Jefferson Street for the FE Halloween parade! Please consider getting involved in this children's event and contact Monica ASAP @ FranklinEstates@hotmail.com.
