Forest Pond HOA

I require a new roof for my home. I would like to get a lighter colored roof (i.e grey) as opposed to black. I checked the FP convenants and there is nothing stated about this subject. I do not want to called out by the HOA if I go forth with my preference. Should I take this before the HOA prior to doing so? Also, if you know a reputatable roofing contractor, please let me know.
