NO LIGHTS WITHIN COMMUNITY

Posted in: Forest Pond
As I was driving into the subdivision, I notice that there are absolutely no working light posts within our community! I emailed Cline & Co. - the biggest nigligent ''Company'' I've ever dealt with - and of course no response or at least an acknowledgement!!

Then we wonder why we have so much crime - No Lights - We have people wondering the pond at night time entering and leaving the subdivision as they please - It can get very dangerous.

We should see about MAYBE getting some info on a gated entrance to the subdivision. It's not only for the wealthier folks but they also hold privacy and security for apartments also. Thats My opinion, does anyone agree/disagree?

RE: NO LIGHTS WITHIN COMMUNITY

I drove in tonight at 8:30 PM and saw plenty of working lights. I know about the ones near the entrance that are not up and wired back in yet - we have to wait until the CDOT gives us clearance to reconnect.

As for a security gate, that would be a huge wasted of money and the City of Charlotte would not let us gate a main thororough fare, namely, Nevin Road. Eventually, Nevin Rd will connect through to IBM Drive - in which decade is anybody's guess.

Cline & Co. cannot respond to your concerns when you don't leave a name, phone number, or an address to respond to - sort of makes you wonder about remaining ''Anonymous'' doesn't it?
Gated

I think having us gated would be wonderful. How can we find out the cost to do this? It should definitaly help with keeping our crime levels down.
Lights Within Community

In response to your message, I understand why you would prefer a gated community; however I do not agree simply because I would like to go and come as I please. Our intersection of Mallard Creek and Nevin RD has enough issues with simply being able to cross or make a turn at that intersection to get onto Nevin Road that I believe it would cause even more of a disturbance by making it a gated community.

If I wanted to live in a gated community I would prefer to rent. This is not the case. Since I am not a millionaire I don't need a gated community. All we can do is continue to work together to police our community and and work with officers to make it safe. One of the ways we can do this is by getting brighter lights at the intersection and side streets within Forest Pond. The trees need to be cut back on some of the side street to allow people to see a few feet in front of their vehicle when going around the bend or up a hill. Especially since residents are parking vehicles on curb side and not in their driveway.
