how to make food desert the land of milk and honey

Posted in: Organized Neighbors of Edgehill

i hear that the ONE is and has been working so hard to bring food fresh/grocery stores, etc. within walking distance of the students i teach at edgehill housing. anyone know of anyone who might be willing to bring a mobile grocery store in? anyone know of a way to show support to lees hair and dollar by convincing him to sell fresh veggies and solicit more police support to deal with his high theft in the store?

A mobile store is a great idea. Also, expanding Lee's Hair and Dollar with greater police support would be a great solution.

I wonder if we could think of other creative ideas that would solve this problem...

Good News!

Vanderbilt Children's Hospital will be sponsering a project this summer to bring a farmer's market into the Edgehill community. We will be selling in-season, locally grown fruits and vegetables every Thursday afternoon from 4pm-6pm at 11th and Edgehill Avenue. Come look for us starting June 17, 2010!

We also have a rewards program called Super Shoppers, which gives you free "Veggie Bucks" each time you fill out a survey for us or spend $5 at our veggie market! It is free to join, and you will receive $2.50 in veggie bucks just for filling out the initial questionnaire!
