Old Business:

A) The Night Out Against Crime Celebration was greatly enjoyed by all who attended.  We had several State and City officials, numerous Police and Fire personnel, and a great many area residents.  We served around 120 hamburgers and 60 hot dogs.  Leftover food items were donated to the Santa Clara UMC who is kind enough to allow us the use of the church each year for this event and our monthly meetings.

B) The Salpointe High School Clean Up on the Gil Catlin Memorial Walkway along Los Reales Rd resulted in over 100 students each day for three day picking up trash and weeds.  Dave and Mikki transported over 45 bags a day to the roll-off and the kids were all great, their help was very much appreciated.  Thanks to all who helped.

New Business:

A) Thanksgiving baskets--We would like to have 4-5 Baskets which will once again consist of a complete Thanksgiving Day meal  to distribute to residents in our neighborhood. Eddie Islas, Santa Clara Elementary School was asked to supply some names and we'd like Santa Clara Church to also supply a couple of names this year.  Anyone wishing to donate food for the baskets please contact Dave at 889-1241.

Call to the Audience:

 A)  Mikki discussed the proposed pocket parks on Pinta Ave.  He talked to ADOT who is willing to sell the lots at $1.00 a sq. ft.  He also talked with the Mayor to see if the City could assist in obtaining any of these lots.  The Drachman Institute Elvira Neighborhood Master Plan outlined plans for pocket parks in this area.  Dave and Oscar will circulate petitions in the immediate area to obtain the neighbors support or non-support.  Everyone present agreed this is the first step before going any further with the park plans.  Dave will report back next month to the neighborhood.

 B)  Halloween--Santa Clara Elementary School will hold a Halloween night dance from 5:30-7:30.  Santa Clara UMC also stated they will be holding a Halloween Festival that night.  Contact Tony Hall @ the church for more information

President's report:  Dave reported a representative from the Tucson Water Dept will be a guest speaker next month, outlining rebates they have available for customers.  Further discussion on the Thanksgiving baskets nest meeting as distribution will not be until after the next monthly meeting.

Adjournment:  Motion to adjourn was made by Oscar Tortosa, seconded by Don Hardes.   Motion was passed by all present.  Meeting was adjourned at 7:52 p.m.
