Recycling for Community

Feb 26, 2007

Time to start recycling - cut down on trash and expenses!
I would like to start a recycling program for our community. We currently only have the newspaper/magazine bins in the parking lot. To keep costs down I would like to have everyone to start recycling their aluminum cans, plastic bottles, and steel tin cans (vegetable, fruit, soup-type cans). I do not think that we will be able to obtain the blue recycle bins, however if you place these items in plastic shopping bags, garbage bags, paper bags, etc., I will gladly pick them up from you once a week and drop them off at one of the recycle centers. Please send me an email or a post here and I will pick up the stuff from you. I would like to have a set date during the week that I can come by and pick up your recycling. My email is doug@tigersteam.com

These are what can be recycled per the Chandler Web page.
The items listed below can be recycled:
?• Aluminum beverage cans

?• Steel tin cans (vegetable, fruit, soup-type cans)

?• Newspaper, printing paper, colored paper, paper sacks

?• Magazines, newsletters (NO shredded paper)

?• Cardboard boxes (broken down and flat)

?• Chip-cardboard boxes (includes cereal, prepared foods and detergent-type boxes)

?• Plastic bottles and containers (food, beverage, condiment, shampoo and detergent-type -- showing #1 through #6 on the bottom or side of the bottle or container) (NO plastic bags) For additional information about recycling plastic bags or reusing them, visit our Frequently Asked Questions on recycling and details on the Dog Waste Stations & Plastic Bag Recycling Program.

?• Glass food and beverage jars and bottles (clear, green and brown)

?• EMPTY aerosol spray cans (shaving cream, deodorant, cooking and furniture spray-type cans)

?• Telephone books
Remember ?…
Recyclables should be clean and dry. Safety is the reason why.
Remove the caps and lids and rings because we can't recycle these things.
