Can anyone explain why our neighbors living near the 5800 block of Emperor Way are recieving free nightly security checks from Metro Airship? While they are enjoying the abuse of tax dollars, countless other neighbors living one and two blocks away have to be awakened, disturbed, and frankly put, harrassed due to a helicopter circling over our homes three to five times during the evening and early morning hours. The spotlite always pointing at the same two or three houses. Does anyone know who is the benifactor of this expensive, tax dollar funded security check? Address maybe? Their connection to metro? Is this legal?

explaination
In the case of my neighbor on Palatial, he used to get courtesy flyovers from time to time because he was part of the Clark County Search and Rescue team.
These houses you are talking about probably belong to similarly employed civil servants (Police, Fire, etc) and because they are friends with the chopper guys, they get a flyover as a way of saying hello.
If you are annoyed by this, it's probably best to talk to the neighbors about what is going on. Communication goes a long way towards settling a lot of problems.

Very disturburbing
Tonight at 11:30, I was driving down Emperor Way I was suddenly blinded by the police helicopter, spotlighting my van. I had to stop because of the angle of the spotlight. It then began to spotlight the house at address 5808 Emperor Way. I began to pull away again and I was immediatly blinded by the helicopter which again focused on my van. It again circled and spotlighted the house. The homeowner had just pulled up into his driveway when I was first blinded. As I sat there watching curious what was going on, the owner reached into his truck, and began to approach my van, he then blinded me with a large flashlight and I will add his demeanor was not friendly. I drove away. As I approached my driveway and pulled in I was again spotlighted by the helicopter, it then casually flew away. I found this event to be absolutely unsettling, I agree this is an abuse and I would urge anyone with concerns to contact the appropriate individuals who may have oversight of not only the helicopter pilots, but the officer who lives at 5808 Emperor Way. The actions of the man who lives at 5808 Emperor Way that I witnessed tonight were aggressive and intimidating. I would not recommend you approach this neighbor. He may have issues. I am glad I live at the opposite end of Emperor Way. I do feel sorry for the families who live near to 5808 Emperor Way. Maybe Lisa Cambell is the person who we should bring this issue up to, or councilman Ross.
