Being from the midwest, we like our chili mixed with cooked elbow *macaroni or just plain chili in a bowl with a side of buttered saltines.
*If you're not watching your waistline, you can throw your favorite shredded cheese on top & bake it a few minutes til the cheese is bubbly.

NICOLE'S AWARD-WINNING BROWNIES
Following is the recipe that won Nicole Rose (Lawndale) 1st Prize at our G.A.I.N. 2003 ''Country Fair'' Bake-off!
Thanks for sharing, Nicole!
Preheat oven to 350 degr. F. with oven rack in bottom third of oven.
Line 8'' square pan with foil, shiny side up. Lightly grease foil with melted butter.
Warm over very low heat in medium-sized, heavy-bottom saucepan, stirring til mixture is melted and smooth:
1/2 cup BUTTER
2-3 oz (2-3 squares) GHIRARDELLI UNSWEETENED CHOCOLATE
Allow mixture to cool for 3 minutes.
Stir in:
1 cup GRANULATED SUGAR
1/2 tsp PURE VANILLA EXTRACT
Add, one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition:
2 lg EGGS
Add til just incorporated:
1/2 cup + 2 Tbs ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR
pinch of SALT
Pour batter evenly into pan.
Bake 20-25 minutes or til wooden toothpick comes out clean but not dry. It's better to error on the side of underbaking rather than overbaking.
Cool on rack til cool to touch. Carefully lift foil and brownies out of pan onto cutting board and cool completely.
Using a thin, sharp knife, cut into 16 squares. Store brownies in the pan in which they were baked or individually wrapped in cookie jar.
