Subst:Eagle Brand Condensed Milk

This recipe equals 1 can Eagle Brand Condensed Milk (14 oz) and I use it ALOT especially during the holidays. I always have these ingredients on hand, so it's nice not to have to run to the store at the last minute just for condensed milk in a recipe! You can substitute butter for the margarine. No one will ever know that you've substituted.

Blend together:
1 cup POWDERED MILK
2/3 cup SUGAR
3 Tbs MARGARINE
1/3 cup BOILING WATER

Refrigerate to thicken.

Does anyone have a recipe for great salsa?

Salsa Fresca

4 large tomatoes, coarsley chopped
1 tablespoon finely chopped cilantro
1/2 small onion, finely chopped
2 green chilies, finely chopped
Juice of 1/2 lemon or lime
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground pepper

Mix all ingredients together and let stand 15 minutes before serving. Serve as an accompaniment to any bean, rice or meat dish. Makes 1 1/4 cups.
P.S. My family can't wait the 15 minute standing time.......mmmm, mmmm, good!

Easy AND declicious!
One taste and you'll be ready to grab Ron and DANCE the salsa!

Throw in while Cuisinart is running:
1 clove GARLIC
add & process:
4 GREEN ONIONS
(I've made it w/o gr onions when I didn't have any & it still turns out good)
Add & process:
14-16 oz can TOMATOES
4 oz can GREEN CHILES (mild)
3 shakes TOBASCO
S&P to taste
(the salt brings out the flavors)
Yell ''Ole''' & you're done!
