Internet connection
Any ideas on connecting to internet faster than 28.8 other than Direct PC for $100/Month? I would think a community our size would be able to get DSL or cable by now.
Thanks for any insight into this frustrating situation.

Re: Internet Connection

About three years ago, the town voted to allow a company to install small 4 inch dishes around town. They were to provide wireless internet services for (I believe 128k) Foxfield, but they went bankrupt before the first dish was installed. Some folks who were original subscribers with Sprint have high speed access, but I don't believe they are installing any new customers. Can satellite subscribers get HSA? I hear cable and phone are dead ends...

Foxfield High Speed Internet

I have found but 1 other option that I personally use. Starband runs about $75/mo. It doesn't require an additional phone line and downloads at about 500-800 whatevers. Works good.
You can reach them at www.starband.com

Internet access in Foxfield

Check out Mile High Online (www.mho.com). They have wireless internet access in our area at $199.95 install fee and $39.95 per month for 512 kbps download. You must be line of sight to one of there towers to get service. I believe there tower is in Castle Rock. The only limitation that I was concerned about is that you get a translated IP address. This will limit how some apps can run such as netmeeting or other text or voice chat programs. They may have not have this limit any longer but call there support line and get the full details. I considered this service but got Sprint Broadband instead before Sprint stopped offering there service.
