Cars Parked in yard

Posted in: Colonial Acres

Is there anything that can be done about people parking cars in their front yard.  Two rental houses on Marcia, both had cars parked in the grass this morning.  I just think that it looks trashy and does not reflect good on our neighborhood!!

Can I ask what if mexican are living there? Everybody in the  hood need to be aware of all these mexican( spanish)  in our area. They rent a house and move 10 people in to help pay the rent. let's say a house rents for 850.00. Aperson or investor/ rental agent will rent the house to mexican . The mexican would then turn around and rent it to individual  150.00 a piece 10 would be 1500 dollars. Then you  have 10 car's park around the house, people pissing in the yard, undesirable in the hood,  all because the person that owns the house has rented his property to these mexican. This would also pertain to section 8 housing.

So in answer to your question, Know! nothing can be done, because you and all your neighbors will set on your back side and do nothing about it, when the above actions by these people not only violate the law, but also violate the covenants that run with the land and property. I agree with you something need to be done to clear this mess up before its to late.

You can also file a complaint with the Mayor's Citizen Service Center online here:

Here's the city code number and reference information from the cityofmemphis.org web site:

Sec. 48-211 - Parking and storage of vehicles
Section (c) All vehicles parked or stored in single family residential, duplex or multifamily zoning districts shall be parked or stored on asphalt, concrete or other hard surface as approved by the city, or completely enclosed within a building.
