The 286-8282 is the proper number to call.   I called this afternoon and the lady who answered the phone asked if I can recall the "date" of the last pickup.   She was suggesting that due to the snow that our schedule might be behind a day or two.   I informed her that wasn't the case that there is bags of newspaper in the recycle bin that has Octobers dates on them.   Her response was that she will file a report to get the container picked up.  

Had a call from the Alderman this morning, and we should have recycle cart pick up no later than this week wednesday or thursday. The area we checked was 40th Street through 42nd Streets, Bluemound to Mt. Vernon since that is where we received complaints from so that is where they will be picking up from.

If you know of any other locations then these please call the Aldermans office.

I did call Mike Murphy's office and spoke with Ben Weiland to make sure the pick up area was extended up the hill. I'd already called DPW yesterday.

The calls worked, at least for me. My recycling cart was emptied sometime this afternoon - now I can fill it right back up with stuff that's backed up on the back porch! Hope the calls worked for the rest of you.

OK. Now I know I can get the stuff off my back stairway hopefully sometime this week. And yes, October 4 I filled mine up and that is the last time it was empty. Thanks for calling ewveryone!
