Too Much Water?

Jan 26, 2007

Q: What can I do if I don't need my entire period of water?
A: RWCD will not consider 15-minute increments. You can either share the flow with another user on the same line or you can split the irrigation time period with another user. To share the flow, the downhill user partially opens their valve while the uphill user completely opens their valve. The flow can be adjusted by changing the opening of the downhill user's valve. Sharing the flow slows down the water and allows it to soak into the ground better. If the downhill user opens their valve completely, the uphill user will get little or no water. In order to prevent damage to the system, the uphill user must have their valve completely open.
