Home Safety Tips

Jul 10, 2003

?• Place house numbers on your back fence in 3-inch-high letters so the police can find your residence from the alley.
?• Check outside power outlets to ensure that your utilities are not being tapped by someone.
?• Place a pin or locking device to prevent your garage door being manually lifted. Walk the perimeter of your house or apartment to look for hiding spots: use lighting and dense or sharp-tipped shrubbery to eliminate them.
?• Check your doors: they can be secured inexpensively with simple lock additions found at any hardware store. Install a 180-degree peephole so you can see who's knocking on your door before you open it.
?• Inside, use simple window locking devises to discourage break-ins. Buy a lighting timer. . . ☺
