I grew up in this area and I do not remember the aircraft being as noisy as they are today. I found an interesting website about this. I have emailed the Noise Abatement Program Coordinator and have heard nothing back.
Seems there are patterns for the various aircraft to follow around Craig Airfield and I for one can tell you that the aircraft do not always follow them. I have been in my back yard, seen helicopters come over the tree line, and I have seen the faces of the pilots clearly.
I would like you all to read the website and contact Craig Airfield if the noise disturbs you as well. I am not naive enough to think this will stop all the noise, but a reduction in the noise of the low flying aircraft would be a welcome relief.
