Broadview Farms Neighborhood Association
Board Meeting Minutes
Tuesday November 7, 2006
Mindy Besch?’s Home
1090 Langley Ave

The meeting called to order at 6:35p.m., By Ronda Yoder, President of BFNA. Board members were present: Ronda Yoder, Carole Davis, Mindy Besch, Joe Flynn, Sybil Anthony, and George Olliff. Jeanette Norman was unable to attend. Joe Flynn gave a financial report of $900 presently in the bank. Mindy Besch read the minutes from October Board Meeting. Sybil Anthony motioned to have the minutes accepted and Joe Flynn second the motion.

Old Business: Neighborhood Grant Application ?– Now that our Grant was approved Volunteer hours need to be started. We must submit monthly hours to the City of Pensacola Neighborhood and Economic Development office. We are required to provide 415 documented volunteer labor hours towards construction and completion of our project (neighborhood sign). Completion of volunteer hours must be done by September 30, 2007.

Ronda stated that the city grant program notified us that they require us to use concrete vs. sakrete for the construction of the neighborhood sign. Joe stated that Home Depot had to quote the price with sakrete because that is what they sell, but we can have the contractor change to concrete and he expects concrete to be cheaper.

Board members decided to announce to the Neighborhood members that instead of a gift exchange type activity for the Christmas party, we request that members bring non-perishable foods to donate to the Manna Food Bank.

New Business: Ronda announced that Gene Fischer, Director, West Florida Regional Library & John Ewing, Assistant Director, Parks & Recreation would be our guest speakers for our Thursday November 9th meeting. They will give us an update on the construction of the Library.

Ronda also suggested we again consider the purchase of some yard signs (around 20) to announce our monthly neighborhood meetings. The signs would be placed around the neighborhood for members to see as a reminder of the meeting each month then would be removed and saved for the next month.

With no further business, Carole Davis made the motion to adjourn the meeting and Mindy Besch seconded the motion. Meeting adjourned at 7:05 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
Mindy Besch, Secretary
