Broadview Farms Neighborhood Association
Thursday January 11, 2006
BFNA Meeting Minutes
First Christian Church
6031 Goodrich Dr.

Ronda Yoder, President, welcomed members and guests & called the meeting to order at 6:40 p.m. The first order of business was the reading of the minutes from December meeting. Mrs. Sylvia Menges made a motion to accept the minutes, and Mrs. Sybil Anthony seconded the motion. The minutes were accepted as read. Joe Flynn gave the financial report of $1,045.00 in the bank. In addition, we also had a new member join the association. We had 23 members attend the monthly meeting.

Old Business: Please continue to work on our volunteer hours. When you have completed any hours fill out form and submit them to Joe Flynn as he must submit them to the city each month to show our progress.

Library Update: The library continues to stay on target. The Architect selected was Strobel & Hunter. Once they have the plans drawn up (which will take several months) they will then open it up for construction bidding.

Box tops/soup labels: Please continue to bring in these items along with soda can tabs, as we will continue to donate these items to the schools and Ronald McDonald House.

Neighborhood Sign: Placement of the Neighborhood sign continues to be planned and is moving forward. The one discrepancy was at the section towards Davis Hwy. The sign needs to be placed 30ft from the curb inward. The issue at hand is that there is a Crepe Myrtle in this location and we need to find out if the crepe myrtle can be moved or if they will wave the requirement.

New Business: Monthly Meeting Signs are in the making. The signs will say ?“Broadview Farms Neighborhood Association Meeting, Thursday?”. At this time, Ronda opened the floor to members asking volunteers to house the sign in their yards. They would be responsible for putting the sign out the week of the meeting and then bringing them in and storing them until next months meeting. We had 10 members volunteer to house the signs.

Group Clean-Up ?– The floor was opened for discussion about coordinating one Saturday a month to work on Volunteer hours. Each month a section of the neighborhood will be chosen for clean up. The first Clean-up?’s scheduled for January 20 at 8am which will take place at the park.

With no further business to discuss, Mrs. Carole Davis motioned for the meeting to adjourn and Mrs. Jeanette Norman seconded the motion. Meeting adjourned at 7:10 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
Mindy Besch, Secretary
