Why are our tax dollars being spent to secure these establishments? Tommy Ortiz and his minion have no respect for our neighborhoods. They have exploited our community without anyone stopping them.
There needs to be a commission looking closely at their proposed new club at Bahasa and where Cheap is located.
Our community does not needs ANYMORE drug dens! Very fine establishments have been thrown out of these buildings to be replaced with businesses that cater to drug use and police problems.
Our mayor, a trusted elected official NEEDS to get this abuse under control. We have already witnessed how the club industry destroyed YBOR City and now they have done it to SOHO with impunity.
I love this City but shutter at the thought of the mismanagement of city resources to accommodate businesses owners like Tommy Ortiz, Chris Scott and Frank Kane. Historical Bungalows with asbestos problems where removed without the proper permits or licensed asbestos removers just to be made into a Paid parking lot located at 304 S. Moody Ave. This was a RM-24 zoning which does not permit the property to be used as a parking lot for their NEW Nightclub!
309 S. Howard Ave has faulty pluming, electrical and NO HANDICAP accommodations, yet they are allowed to operate a restaurant.
OUTRAGEOUS that so many businesses have to follow the rules imposed by you elected officials, but these CLUB OWNERS don?’t.
While the city continues to turn a blinds eye to these problems, the media and the neighborhood homeowner associations are not. WE WANT THESE PUBLIC NUSIANCE PROBLEMS CAUSED BY THESE CLUB OWNERS TO STOP. WE WANT OUR COMMUNITY SAFE FROM DRUG PROBLEMS AND THE POLICE PROBLEMS TO STOP!
