What did Beachwood Civic Assoc. accomplish in 2008?

JAN-Began promoting the electronic version of the Beachwood Breeze using www.neighborhoodlink.com web site. This saves costs of printing over 320 newsletters. FEB-Voted to retain the current BCA Board officers.
MAR-Requested property managers repaint two sections of fence at the apts. due to the paint pealing off. Also met with Shorty Robbins to discuss the RFP process to get the Beachwood Center reopened.
APR-Advertised community yard sale in several newspapers. Volunteers cleaned up debris from vehicle that crashed into a palm tree on the first median.
MAY-Began BCA membership dues collection.
Reported graffiti sprayed on several fences to the police gang unit for investigation.
JUNE-Reported fence at Beachwood Park was damaged and needed to be replaced. Officer Cheryl Perez came to present tips for neighborhood safety & security.
JULY-Continued with BCA membership drive.
AUG-Tracked slow progress of getting RFP announced.
SEPT-Began electronic newsletter. Paper copies are made for residents by request.
Overgrown grass at Beachwood and Starfish Ave. reported to 630-city.
OCT-Called Pam Wilson, Mgr. Marketing & Comm. Relations for status of RFP.
NOV-Broken sprinkler solenoid head on first median repaired.
DEC-met with Jax Parks Staff discuss requirements of groups who apply to run our community center.
