What shouldn?’t go in the blue recycling bin?
No plastic bags, milk cartons, butter tubs or juice boxes. No motor oil, pesticide or fertilizer bottles or pool chemicals. No shredded paper.

What if I need a new bin?
Call 630-CITY or visit ecare.coj.net

What do I do with old tires?
Take them to the Hazardous Waste Center, 2675 Commonwealth Avenue or call 630-CITY.

What do I do with batteries?
Do not put them in the trash. They should be taken to the Hazardous Waste Center, 2675 Commonwealth Avenue.

What about old appliances?
Take them to the Hazardous Waste Center, 2675 Commonwealth Avenue OR call 630-CITY to arrange for a pick-up.

What about old electronic equipment?
If the item still works, why not donate them to a charity. If they no longer work, take them to the Hazardous Waste Center. Electronic devices include computer monitors, terminals, keyboards, televisions, printers, scanners, VCRs, and radios camcorders, DVD players, phones, and microwaves.
