What has BCA accomplished?

Jan.-keeping light bulbs replaced on the two medians
Feb.-visited with Officer Chris Gaddoni to discuss damages to the playground equipment, lights fences. We wrote to Councilman Richard Clark asking for his assistance in getting the community center reopened.
Mar.-Followed up on police investigation.
We scheduled meeting with Councilman Clark and Park Dev. Personnel.
April-advertised neighborhood yard sale.
We meet with Councilman Clark, Div. Chief Shorty Robbins and Grants Coordinator Daryl Joseph.
May-Followed up with telephone calls on reopening the center. Contractor hired to remove damaged playground equipment.
June-Discussed plans for new playground equipment and renovations of park with funds from local organization.
July-park renovations put on hold financial sponsor backed out.
August-New mulch spread on two medians. New playground equipment installed.
Sept.-Denise Ostertag, with Rec. Programs, requested Survey from residents.
Oct-Denise said RFP(Request for Proposal) to request bids on running the center was with Director to review.
Nov.-Denise advised RFP was delayed due to recent publicity on the Simonds-Johnson park. Denise assured we are ?“on the radar?” and Councilman Clark is aware of the delays. Due to the city?’s reorganization, Denise Osterag?’s new telephone no. is 630-4153.

We will continue to work towards making every effort to get our community center reopened.
