Plans are being made to apply for a City grant jointly with Coquina Key. The grant monies will be used to place decorative street lamps in the causeways leading to the Coquina Key bridges.

We Need A Project Manager

Good news! We still have monies available to do a 2nd grant for 2007 besides the great lights along 45th Ave. It was voted on at the last general meeting to go for more lighting. The grant committee had the city come out and give us the best options for using the additional monies and we still have time to get a grant in. Many people have requested we start putting lights along Sunrise Park and with a few existing lights already there it looks like we will get the best bang for our buck there. Of course, we will spell all the options out in our August newsletter and we will have a final vote on where the lights will go at our August General Meeting. So please, review all the info in the August newsletter and come and vote so your voice will be heard.
We still need a project manager for this grant however, without one the grant can not be put in. So if you are excited about this project and want to help call Jane Wolfe at 643-6699 and sign on to the grant committee as project manager!

Lamps

We totally support lamps that are being proposed along the entrance causeways. Our house sits across from the 39th ave. bridge and we feel 2 issues could be addressed with the lights, safety and asthetics. From a safety standpoint it gets pretty dark along 39th ave. S. at night and more lighting is definitely needed. The intersection near the bridge experiences lots of foot and vehicle traffic at all hours. Asthetically we enjoy the lamps already in place on the bridges themselves and additional lights along the causeway would create a visually pleasing enterance to our neighborhood and Coquina Key.
