A Community Restored

On June 22nd the Aspens Townhomes Association held its 26th Annual Meeting and signaled a new era for our home. A restoration plan for the community was overwhelmingly voted in by 93 of the 109 members voting at the meeting. This plan will restore the buildings and the grounds of the community over the next 6 years without any increase in the monthly fees for homeowners.
The Aspens, long a landmark across Sable Boulevard from Gateway High School, predates even the Aurora Mall. When it was built there was nothing but ranch land east of the community and throughout the years the community has seen its fortunes rise and fall. Beginning last June, with the election of a new board, The Aspens has experienced a renaissance in both property management and community spirit.

Plans for the new year include applying for; the National Association of the Year Award, as a Focus Community in cooperation with the Neighborhood Resource Center, and as a National Federation of Wildlife Backyard Habitat.
