Robert?’s Rules of Order
or Who Was Robert Anyway?
Part II
Last month we introduced some general principles and standard motions that you will hear at the annual meeting. This month we will get more specific about how our annual meeting will go.
In a couple of weeks you will be receiving an official notice of the annual meting that includes an agenda. The agenda this year has 2 main items of business and some ?“filler?” items ,committee and board reports to the membership that we will cover while we wait for the votes to be counted for both the Board Members election and the Restoration option vote. Also you will receive A ?“directed?” proxy and a postage paid return envelope.
A directed proxy looks a lot like a ballot. You can decide which candidates you wish to vote for (or write them in) and you can vote for which restoration option you want. As well as appointing someone who will be at the meeting to act for you in other matters that may come up It continues to be a proxy however, because we need a certain percentage of the membership to be present at the meeting ?“in person or by proxy?” to have a quorum. to legally conduct business as a Colorado non-profit corporation at our annual meeting.
If you?’re not sure whether or not you will be at the meeting PLEASE fill out the proxy and either mail it in the return postage paid envelope provided or give it to your designated representative to deliver to the secretary, Alison Hofmann, directly. If at the last minute you can attend the meeting you can reclaim your proxy and vote by ballot at the meeting with everyone else. This way however, if you happen to be in East Addis Abba when the Annual Meeting is held you will still be able to participate and we will know what your preferences are.
When you arrive at the meeting itself you will have to sign in. One vote and one ballot per unit.
Co-owners will have to decide who will vote the unit ahead off time. If there is a question about your eligibility
