CHEVINGTON WOODS CIVIC ASSOCIATION
MINUTES OF TRUSTEES MEETING
March 21, 2005

Meeting site: Violet Twp Offices, 12970 Rustic Drive, Pickerington, OH 43147

President Comanita called the meeting to order at 7:08 p.m.

The presiding officer ascertained the presence of a quorum with eight (8) trustees in attendance:

Carol Comanita, President
Don Roeder, Vice President
Mark Briggs, Treasurer
Will Snell, Secretary
Julie Squier, Trustee
Janet Price, Trustee
Teresa Hartley, Trustee
Rachael Hintz, Trustee

Reading of the minutes: The Chair noted the minutes of the February 21, 2005 regular meeting had been previously distributed via email to the trustees and advised, that if there were no objections, the minutes could be approved as distributed. Thereafter, Trustee Hintz moved the minutes be approved as previously distributed. The motion was duly seconded and passed without dissent.

Correspondence: None.

Treasurer’s Report: Treasurer Briggs presented an oral report. He noted that he had not had time to prepare a formal written report but advised the trustees present of the bills paid and the balances in the CWCA accounts. During the ensuing discussion it was noted the dues notices for 2005 would be prepared for mailing prior to the Easter weekend.

Reports of Standing Committees: None

Deed Restriction Committee:

Trustee Snell noted the deplorable weather had given residents little time to finishing cleaning up the debris left from the winter ice storm and suggested that additional deed restriction citations be postponed until weather conditions were favorable for yard and landscaping work. Following a discussion among the Trustees assembled it was the consensus of opinion that citations be postponed until weather conditions provided residents more favorable weather to correct any condition that my constitute a violation of existing deed restrictions.

Unfinished Business: Secretary Snell reported that he had contacted the Violet Township Director of Operations, Bill Yaple, in regard to wild animal control when, predominantly, raccoons were wandering Chevington Woods exhibiting signs of distemper or rabies. He read the response from Mr. Yaple, which was basically that neither the Township nor Fairfield County provided any service for the problem. He suggested the CWCA may want to arrange for a local company to handle the problem.

New Business:

A discussion was held in regard to the annual Easter Egg Hunt vis-à-vis the storm damage at the North Reserve. It was the consensus of opinion among the Trustees assembled that the safety of the children was more important than hosting the annual hunt this year. Accordingly, Trustee Snell made a motion that the Easter Egg Hunt be cancelled, the Trustees seek more reasonable bids on cleaning up the debris left by the ice storm and that a 4th of July Picnic be held for the Chevington Woods children, parents and grandparents this year. The motion was duly seconded and passed without dissent.

A discussion was held in regard to signs advising residents of upcoming events such as the annual garage sale, N. Reserve clean up day, Halloween cider/donuts and etc. Trustee Hartley volunteered to investigate the possible purchase of signs that could be used from year to year to eliminate the need to create specific signs each time an event was held. It was agreed that such signs could reduce costs and the need for volunteer labor to prepare individual signs for such events. Accordingly, Trustee Hartley was encouraged to pursue this matter and report back to the Trustees.

During the discussion it was also the consensus of opinion that the CWCA sponsor a North Reserve Clean Up Day when the weather permits.

The Chair then called for any other business to come before the Trustees assembled. Hearing none, the Chair recognized a motion from Trustee Price to adjourn. The motion was duly seconded and passed without dissent.

Meeting adjourned at 8:49 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

______________________
Will Snell, Secretary
