AT&T and the American Red Cross have developed "Kids' Call," a safety education course designed to teach kindergartners to second graders how to recognize and call for help in an emergency.

Based on the adventures of "Riley," a little pig who experiences situations in which he must call for help, and "Digit," the wireless phone mascot, children learn what constitutes an emergency and how to call for help using a variety of telephones (cordless, rotary dial, wireless, push-button, etc.). After the school presentation, children receive a multi-activity workbook that reinforces the key points made. The workbook has been designed to encourage interaction between the child and parent/guardian at home.
