AT&T Wireless for the Community Program

AT&T Wireless Services’ "Wireless For The Community" program allows non-profit organizations within AT&T Wireless Services’ Colorado service area to request free use of cellular phones and unlimited local airtime for a two-year period as a communications tool to increase the effectiveness of their community programs. Examples of eligible non-profit organizations include, but are not limited to, neighborhood crime watch groups, safe houses for battered women, anti-drunk driving groups and vanpool programs for the elderly and handicapped. 125 organizations throughout Colorado are currently participating in the program.

Written requests from eligible groups will be accepted beginning in September through October 31, 1998. Cellular phones and airtime will be awarded for a two-year period to the organizations best demonstrating how cellular communications will improve the quality of life in their communities.

The Wireless For The Community program is an integral part of AT&T Wireless Services’ expanding public safety program in Colorado. The program exemplifies how critical a communications tool cellular is for improving the effectiveness of non-profit agency's service delivery.

Non-profit organizations can request application guidelines by calling the Wireless For The Community hotline at (303) 573-3165.

The annual value of the donation is estimated at $6,000/year.
