Dear Neighbors,

LT Thomas Gwaltney - Response Area Commander, Westover Division, provided the following information concerning two incidents being heavily investigated by CMPD which occurred in the Madison Park neighborhood on Murrayhill Rd (5000 and 5300 blocks) this week.

Our Assault W/Deadly Weapon & Homicide unit is working a incident that occurred 1:20 AM on Sept. 20, 2012 in the 5000 block of Murrayhill Road. The victim was shot in the leg. He was confront by two subjects as he got out of his vehicle. This is an active investigation and details are still coming into the detectives. It is not uncommon for detectives to canvass neighbors when an incident like this occur. Please let your neighbors know to report any suspicious activity or vehicles in the area. The suspects (two black males) in this incident may have been operating a White Mazda.  CMPD considers this a very isolated incident for our neighborhood.
 
The B & E occurred in the 5300 block of Murrayhill Rd. It happen during the day and the homeowner was not at home. Electronics and jewelry was taken from the house. We are attempting to build a case on a possible suspect.  As CMPD has further information on either of these two incidents they will update the HOA.
