Mob...could you please start using periods and other punctuations in your posts. They are really hard to read and make you look like an illiterate moron.
I am confused though. Where does the constitution say anything about one's parents being US citizens? I thought the libs have decried that if you are born here, you are a natural born citizen. Also, what if you are born illegitimate like nobama was? Does that play in your world at all? |

First off sir, I probably am illiterate. Writing is very hard for me, I feel trapped because I can't express myself so people like you don't refer to me as a moron. In fact I am sick of being called names by people on this site, can we not act like adults or is it impossible to show little respect! lucky there is a spell check button too!
Secondly the founding fathers didn't just make rules for our federal government to follow, they had a reason for everyone, which is to keep this country free and from falling into the hands of tyranny! They studied every form of government and history and they knew how a country changes to tyranny. The constitution is there shot of everlasting liberty. It is the responsibility of people like us to make sure the elected follow the constitution which they swore an oath to protect! in fact they swore an oath only to the constitution and nothing else!
here is what I found on the subject, remember article 2 section 1 states"No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President" here is one link on the subject!
The Constitution does not, in words, say who shall be natural-born citizens. Resort must be had elsewhere to ascertain that. At common-law, with the nomenclature of which the framers of the Constitution were familiar, it was never doubted that all children born in a country of parents who were its citizens became themselves, upon their birth, citizens also. These were natives, or natural-born citizens, as distinguished from aliens or foreigners. Some authorities go further and include as citizens children born within the jurisdiction without reference to the citizenship of their [88 U.S. 162, 168] parents. As to this class there have been doubts, but never as to the first. For the purposes of this case it is not necessary to solve these doubts. It is sufficient for everything we have now to consider that all children born of citizen parents within the jurisdiction are themselves citizens. The words 'all children' are certainly as comprehensive, when used in this connection, as 'all persons,' and if females are included in the last they must be in the first. That they are included in the last is not denied. In fact the whole argument of the plaintiffs proceeds upon that idea U.S. Supreme court stated this during minor vs happersett
new york times story on constitutional eligibility
They simply played a better game of chess. And due to this sick game, Obama now sets a precedent that anyone who hates this country, from Osama Bin Laden to Kim Jong Il, can have a child with an American woman and that child can be President. Obama’s defeat of the dual nationality issue, in both the courts and the media, means that the President's parents do not have to be US citizens. If that is true, then the natural born citizen requirement in Article 2 Section 1 of the Constitution is basically rendered meaningless.
why do we require our president to be natural born
the reason the founding fathers didn't give an explanation of "natural born" because if you know why they wrote the constitution then you would know what they meant! They simple explanation of born on the soil leaves open the blood route of loyalty is open to foreigners. That is why it must mean by parents that are citizens and born in the land so that the persons loyalty lies solely with this country and no others! When you understand what the founders were trying to do it makes it easy to interpret the constitution!
still waiting on that adobe proof ! don't mind my material being proved wrong!

Ok...mobay...but the clause STILL does not say anything about the parents birth location...like you said...or anything about them being married for that matter! |
