With the arrival of cooler weather, it’s time to get into your attic, closets and garages and get rid of the junk you no longer use (even though you promised your family you would). With the current economy, we could all use some extra cash. Think of it as Cash for Junkers! It’s time for a YARD Sale!

When: Saturday, October 3, 2009

What time: 7am-until

Yes, we know it’s early! We like to sleep in too. You may choose to start your yard sale at any time, but we are advertising our start time at 7am. Don’t miss out on the early birds!

How will people know about the Neighborhood Yard Sale?

We will be placing a 2 day add into the Charlotte Observer to run Oct 2-3. We will also be creating some signs to place out on key roads and intersections. Please consider donating $2-3 (or more if you’re feeling particularly generous), to help alleviate these costs.

Do I need a permit: YES!

The city of Charlotte does require a Yard Sale permit. Thankfully, it’s only $5 (perhaps the only cheap  thing about Charlotte). We will be submitting a list of names, addresses and payments to the County offices. To participate, send your full name, address, contact number and/or e-mail, a description of the items you’ll be selling along with $5 permit fee and ad/sign donation (Cash only by Monday , Sept 21st to:

Andrew & Lindsay Mackey

5321 Valley Forge Road

Charlotte, NC 28210

We will be delivering permits a couple of days prior to the sale.

If you would like to get your permit on your own, please visit the following website: http://www.charmeck.org/Departments/Tax+Collections/Business+Taxes/Attic,+Yard,+Garage+Sale+Permit.htm

I still have other questions!
