Neighborhood Development
Neighborhood Development provides a range of public services designed to help maintain and improve the quality of life in Charlotte's neighborhoods. The goal is to make every neighborhood a desirable place to live, work and play. This is achieved by delivering quality collaborative and innovative services designed to make every neighborhood a ''stable'' neighborhood.
Neighborhood Development's services are delivered through three distinct, but integrated business operations - Neighborhood Services, Code Enforcement Services and Housing Services - to make neighborhoods better. These operations work together and collaborate with other City departments, outside agencies, organizations and citizens to implement neighborhood revitalization plans, help solve neighborhood problems, build capacity in neighborhood organizations, enforce minimum housing and property standards, and maintain and expand the supply of affordable housing.

Regardless of rather you like it or not the City of Charlotte serves to make this neighborhood a great place to live.
wow!

I guess if not wanting to see a collection of trash in your neighbors yard and porch puts you on the same level as Hitler then I'm in BIG TROUBLE!!!! I MEAN BIG TROUBLE..

THanks MPHOA for the info about the code enforcement approach...I was already familiar with it but at least this puts it out there for the gen'l public. The thing is-even though something isn't a code violation-it doesn't mean its not an eyesore for those who live next to you. Even though the inside of my house isn't always as clean as I would like..I feel I owe it to the people around me to take care of the outside.

I've recently put a house on the market with what we'll call an ''untidy neighbor'' and whether or not the previous upset poster likes it...over half the people who looked at the house brought up the next door neighbors lack of regard (how many didn't bring it up???)...

And I don't think its cowardly to anonymously approach a neighbor who isn't doing their part. Its AN EXTREMELY AKWARD SITUATION to ask another adult to clean up their stuff!! Not to mention the fact that you have to live next to them for the next x years!! I'm not your mother-and I shouldn't have to ask you to clean up your room...you should just want to!

Takes all kinds of people

It takes all kinds and yes we have all kinds of people living in this community. People don't seem to realize that it might not be just the neighbor next door that has to deal with things like this type of problem.

It is a blight on the entire city. Not just the people that live in the community, but even tourist, that drive through the area.

The City agrees or it would not provide remedies for us.

I completely understand your concern with the problem.

There are all types of reasons why people let things go.

Spite, mental problems, laziness, or they just don't see it the same why as most people. If there was a physical reason for letting something go I am certain someone would be more than glad to assist them. I know the HOA has helped several people over the years on a temp as needed basis correct problems.

Thought it was funny the person could speak of anonymity being cowardly, yet left their name off the response.

Anywhy certainly no need for any of us to move as the responder suggested that care about the community. The city give HOAs like this one (really anyone rather you rent or own) a way to take care of problems.
What do you mean

I guess I'd have to ask what you mean by anonomous persuasion before I could really comment
