LAWS TO HELP KEEP WILMINGTON CLEANER
Containers and timing are important
Garbage must be wrapped and drained of moisture and placed in substantial, securely closed plastic bags. The bags must be placed in garbage collection containers (watertight cans)with lids. No containers may be placed out for collection earlier than 6pm the day before collection; containers must be removed at the end of the collection day. All residents and business owners are encouraged to recycle.
KEEPING PARKS AND LOTS CLEAN
It is illegal to put garbage on any street, public place, park, vacant lot, or private property for any reason other than for scheduled garbage collection. Litter or rubbish must be placed in authorized receptacles or in official city dumps. Business owners are responsible for keeping their sidewalks free of litter.

MAINTAINING TREES AND SHRUBBERY
Trees and shrubs must be well maintained and kept trimmed. Wild growth of grass and weeds must be removed. Grass shall not exceed 8 inches in height.
