Banner Task Team--Volunteers Needed

Banner Task Team--Volunteers Needed

The Cool Spring/Tilton banners have enhanced the neighborhood and there have been positive comments about them. There is interest in obtaining more banners. Henry Smith has volunteered to lead a task team of anyone interested in working with him on the project. The project is outlined as follows:

1.) Identify the Delmarva poles on van Buren, Harrison, Franklin, Broom, and Rodney between 7th and 5th.
Write down the pole number and the block....This is where we need your help!

2.) Work with Sophia to have Delmarva say which poles are OK for banners. (Not all poles are OK with
Delmarva.)

3.) Tally up the number of available poles. Work with Sophia to calculate the total cost of the additional banners.

4.) Apply to the 5th District Planning Council for funding.

We can't put banners on the numbered streets i.e., 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, because they are too narrow for the banner-hanging truck to manuever because of the on-street parking on both sides.

This is an ideal time to do this project and put in a proposal for funding, since the fiscal year starts in July.

Let us know if you'd like to work on this project.
