Re: Edgemoor Neighborhood Association – Proposed Traffic Plan

Dear Mr. Frederick,

Your letter concerning the addition of speed humps on Lee Street, NE was discussed and voted upon by the Edgemoor Neighborhood Association on August 26, 2008. The committee agreed to the request to consider the humps.

There was also some discussion concerning a similar request made by our association in 2006, for the addition of speed humps further south on Lee Street, along the border of the park. At the time, (July) there was very little traffic, due to the end of soccer season. There was also the matter that someone seemed to have pulled up the measuring device. In any case, nothing more came of our petition.

Recently there was an event in which a dog was hit and killed on this same section of Lee Street, by someone leaving the soccer field in a hurry. Although your reply to this letter in no way, impacts our unanimous decision to support the request to consider the humps between, 58th Avenue, NE and 59th Avenue, NE, we are asking if it might be possible to amend the current plan to include humps along Puryear Park, as well.

Sincerely
