Who Are The Downey's?
For those who moved to Brookside Woods prior to 2000, we live in the ''new'' house on Oakfair. We are mother (Jean) and daughter (Sue) who decided that it was much better to own one house and live together than to each try to keep up with 2 houses and 2 yards. So, we each sold our previous homes and consolidated our various collections and moved to Brookside Woods in 2000. We are very glad we decided to move here together. This past summer, we added a dog named Archie (7 yr. old Keeshound) to our family. We have met lots of neighbors while walking Archie

How Does Our Garden Grow?
As you might guess from looking at our yard, we love to garden. Sue grows mostly flowers while Jean likes her herb garden. Sue is a master gardener and active volunteer at the Ohio State Chadwick Arboretum. Be sure to check out the Chadwick Perennial Plant Sale and Gardening Fair Friday and Saturday of Mother's Day Weekend.
