White Estate Undergoing Transformation

Finally, at long last, it's getting to be moving day at the Jack White Estate.

The fine old home in the 38-hundred block of Seguin Road has been in the city's acquisition pipeline for quite some time, but now some members of the Park Police force and Horticulture Services are moving to their new home.

The home was built on the east bank of Salado Creek by Jack White, who was Mayor of San Antonio years ago. The property stayed in the White family for generations, but now it has been acquired by the City with Proposition 3 funding and it will be a part of Phase Two of the Salado Creek Hike and Bike Trail.

Currently, renovation and clearing work are going on and soon the place should be a showcase, nestled on the banks of the creek.
