TEACHER'S CORNER

3 AM CLASS

In October we will continue our Color Day, emphasizing purple, green, orange and black. The children seem to expecially enjoy these days and are proud to wear the "Color of the Day". We will also be doing a special science unit in October, as we talk about Fall and "Why leaves change colors". The workbench and climber were a big hit in September. We will continue to use them in October, and we will introduce the library.
Finally, we will close out the month with our Halloween Party. The children may wear costumes that day if they wish. We just ask for no masks, since it obstructs their vision.
Have a great October and enjoy the beautiful fall foliage.

4 PM CLASS

The 4's seemed to enjoy the "Discovering Me" unit in September. It has been a joy for me to watch their enthusiasm and I hope you have gotten to see some of it at home or on your working days.
In October, we will begin the month by talking about "Where I Live", our houses and our addresses. Next we will spend a week talking about Fire Prevention and Safety. We will play on the xylophone. We will also have a practice fire drill at school. During the week of the 18th, we will begin a Science Unit on Fall and Harvesting. Before Halloween, we will make Pumpkins, Scary Spiders, and sponge-paint Bats. We will talk about real spiders for Science. One of our workbench projects will be a special Math Lesson on "Sorting Pumpkins," which I hope the children will enjoy.
Finally, we will close out the month with our Halloween Party. The children may wear costumes that day if they wish. We just ask for no masks, since it obstructs their vision.
Have a great October and enjoy the beautiful fall foliage.
