MONA Neighbors

Are you interested in park facilities and recreation for our neighborhood? We have an opportunity to directly influence where money is spent and how. The Park and Recreation Dept. is looking for someone from our neighborhood to serve on the Park and Rec District Advisory Council. I believe they meet once per month.

You would be able to directly influence the Merry Oaks Campus Park and the Briar Creek Greenway, as well as other park and recreation opportunities throughout Central Park District II (includes uptown).

If you have questions please email reply ASAP or call me at 704 535 7409, or you contact District Manager Neil Carroll directly at carrorn@co.mecklenburg.nc.us
if you have time and can commit to this group.

Please consider doing this. The position has been vacant for awhile. Plaza Midwood has gotten many improvements to Midwood Park precisely because they have had a rep on the Advisory Council. It helps to be in the loop!

Thank you

Nancy Pierce Shaver, Neighborhood Advocate

Editor's Note: The park district Merry Oaks is in is the Central II District. It stops at Eastway Dr. and goes back toward downtown.
