GRASSROOTS (i.e. CHICKENS AND MULCH)

By my count, IWII has been around for 8 seasons now. Seven years, 8 seasons, and around 25 plays all together. Not too bad. The fact that we have continued to thrive despite the loss of our biggest and brightest Angels is another miracle in itself.

It's true that IWII rehearses in a backyard (our neighbors have been extremely kind over the years...kind, and patient). It really is "grassroots" if by that term you mean we've had to endure the stench of mulch piles or the clucking of chickens during rehearsals (and performances; two of our earliest efforts were actually performed as well as rehearsed in the yard).

We have come a long way, and still have a long way to go.

But what is Is What It Is?

Different things to different people, that's for sure. For today's purpose, let's just say that IWII is not a "family theater," but it's theatre you can bring the family to see. We're not intentionally "cutting edge" or "alternative," we just don't choose plays you've probably seen before...and if you have, we give 'em a twist in a way that has become trademark IWII: That you'll go home with a smile.

See you at Amateurs!
