No official visitations scheduled.

George & Patty Schedule
May 4 - George & Mike calling for "Loyalty Days" in Newport
May 11 - George calling for Tumbleweeds

Cinco de Mayo Dance - May 5th
This is a fun dance with a Mexican theme. In keeping with the theme, you might choose to wear Mexican-style clothes, though regular square dance attire is always welcome too. Consider bringing Spanish or Mexican-style food for your contribution to the potluck -- enchiladas, burritos, beans and rice, tacos, taco salad, quesadillas, chips and salsa, nachos, chimichangas, fajitas, Dulce de Leche ice cream, or whatever else you can come up with! Our guest caller and cuer for this dance will be Jeff Sand and Richard Gipe. See you there!

Mystery Trip – May 12th
Have you signed up and paid your money? What is your "survival rating"??? You won't want to miss this trip! What we know is -- 1) we'll be going by bus, 2) dinner will be provided, 3) we'll be dancing SOMEWHERE. Be sure your name is on the list and your money in to Michael Kious (503- 465-9398).

Anniversary Dance - May 19th
Can you believe we are coming up on our 47th Anniversary as a club???? Join us at this dance and help us celebrate this special occasion. Be sure to check out the photo albums to see the fun we've had throughout the years.

Square Dance Class Graduation – May 17th
Our class is moving right along and will be graduating early this year, so be sure to note this date. We'll want to have as many as possible come out and help our students celebrate. Please plan to bring finger food and, most importantly, your fun-loving self!

Starlight Parade - June 2nd
Remember, we are DARK on June 2nd this year, so that we can dance on the float in the Starlight Parade. This is an opportunity that only comes along occasionally (next year it will be another club's opportunity) so don't miss your chance to participate! Check with Bonnie Ivy for details (503-289-0889).

Picnic Dance – June 16th
June 16 will be here before we know it, and this year we'll be celebrating the start of summer with a Picnic Dance, so start thinking about a nice summery outfit to wear. We'll want to bring picnic-type food for this dance, but I think we can do without the ants, right?

Garage Sale - June 29, 30 and July 1
Start going through your things now to find what you want to contribute to our club yard sale. The proceeds this year will be going to help pay for our Weekend Retreat at YMCA Camp Collins.

July 20-22 Ranch Campout Trip
Terry and Sue Nelson have arranged for a repeat of last years campout, dance and barbeque at a guest ranch at no cost to you other then your help at dance and bringing a potluck dish for the barbeque.

Members are welcome to stay at Sundance Meadows Ranch on both Friday and Saturday nights. Or just come over for Saturday’s festivities. We’ll have access to “dry” campsites under the juniper with assurances of a coyote serenade. There are motels nearby in Bend for those not wishing to camp.

Saturday night we’ll help the ranch put on a potluck barbeque followed by square dance/mixer with other ranch guests. Contact Terry or Sue Nelson (636-2857) for more information and to sign-up.

From the President –

This year is speeding by, and it's already MAY!!!! We have a month full of activities -- from our Cinco de Mayo and Anniversary dances, to our Mystery Trip, to our square dance class graduation (note the early graduation date!). You won't want to miss any of these, so make sure they are all on your calendar. And don't forget about decorating and dancing on our float in the Starlight Parade on the 2nd of June!!!! Go Oaky Doaks!!!

We want to extend a big welcome to Lisa Winham who is the most recent addition to our Oaky Doaks family. Lisa, we're glad you chose membership in our club. And to all our Oaky Doaks members -- new and not so new -- I challenge you to take the time to get to know some of our club members that you might not know quite so well. (There will be a quiz!!!! -- maybe J)

See you on the dance floor,

Cheryl
