It Takes A Network

It Takes a Network! is a unique collaborative effort between Families & Allies and Denver Options that complements services offered by each of the two partner organizations. Through this pilot project, Families & Allies will not duplicate the direct services offered through Denver Options; instead it will provide those individuals currently on the waiting list who are receiving no services with an important and immediate bridge to the larger community, a “PATH” towards an improved life, and a Personal Network of support.

Families & Allies will begin 20 new Networks for individuals 18 years of age and older who are currently awaiting services in the Denver area. We will work with Denver Options program staff to identify potential participants and help build Networks for those individuals interested in participating.

The first orientation for people on the waiting list of Denver Options was held on October 16, 2008. We offered 12 participants the chance to have a PATH Plan developed and to start their own Personal Network.

We plan to begin five Personal Networks each quarter of the project year, which began in fall 2008, with 20 Networks started the first year.

This project is funded in part by the Lowe Fund of The Denver Foundation.

If you have questions or are interested in helping with this unique project, please call Families and Allies @ 720-941-4755.
