Square Dance Lessons
George is doing a great job teaching our 28 students. Now it’s the club’s turn to support them as they move into the time of jamborees, and let them see what a great club we have here. There are several ways we can help during the month of March:
• Continue your wonderful support as ANGELS for these students. Obviously, for a class this size, we can use all the angels we can get!
• Help mentor students by being available to answer their questions, help them find Jamborees or go with them, if possible.
• Go through your closet and find those nice "experienced" square dance clothes. Recycle them to help our new students outfit themselves for square dancing, and make yourself a little money besides!
• First Clothing Resale will be Thursday night, March 2nd and will continue for several weeks.
• Plan on participating in Sewing Bee on Saturday March 11th. For details read article below.
• Support the Jamboree, Thursday, March 30th by bringing finger food to share and your enthusiastic self.
Thanks to all of you for your support!

Sewing Bee, Saturdary March 11th
There will be sewing bee the second Saturday in March starting at 9 am at the Manely’s. We will be making skirts and ties in the club’s colors to outfit new students. This is an opportunity not only for students, but also club members without club outfits. Since we are working together and donating our labor, the cost per skirt and tie will only be $15. Be sure to sign-up ahead of time, if you want one, so we can be sure to have enough materials on-hand. Please come out to help, even if you don’t sew, the more the merrier! Call Cheryl Manley (503-263-3858) or Patty Hermann (503-465-9398) for additional information.

Sadie Hawkins Dance Mar 4th
Wear your dancing shoes tonight, men! When the ladies ask, we dance, else be ready to run for the hills, cause Sadie will be pursuing us. And you know what happens if she catches us! Don’t you??????

Gospel Dance April 15th
Once again, it will be George & Patty Hermann along with Mike & Debbie Combs. It will be all gospel singing calls (solos, duets and maybe even trios). It will also be all gospel rounds, many of them written by Debbie & Patty. This is a great way to celebrate the Easter season. Be sure to mark your calendars for this dance. We want to make a good showing of our club to the visitors we expect to have.

Mystery Trip
Secret plans are being made behind closed doors. Rumor has it, that the bus will leave April 22th but the destinations are unknown. Bug Dave and Tina for details!

Patty’s Pride
Thinking about dancing with Patty's Pride???? The group is open to Oaky Doak members that round dance regularly. It is a fun group that enjoys dancing and performing together. Applications will be available by the last Oaky Doak Dance in August with practices to begin shortly thereafter. Questions?? Talk to Patty Hermann or give her a call at 503-465-9398.

August 4-6 Ranch Trip
August is a long ways off, but you may want to set aside some time on your calendar. George and Patty Hermann are calling and cueing for the Redrock Squares in Redmond, Oregon Friday night (Aug 4th). Everyone is welcome to attend the dance.

Terry and Sue Nelson have arranged for a club campout, dance and barbeque at a guest ranch at no cost, other your help at dance and a potluck barbeque.

Members are welcome to stay at the Sundance Meadows Ranch on both Friday and Saturday nights. We’ll have access to “dry” campsites under the juniper with assurances of a coyote serenade. There will also be a limited number of rooms in the bunkhouse. Saturday night we’ll help the ranch put on a potluck barbeque followed by square dance.

Activities abound at the ranch. Miles of trails to hike or mountain bike, swimming pool, putt-putt or frisbee golf, horses and cows, bat caves, fish pond, and nearby shopping, museums, and other recreational areas.

Look for a signup sheet soon, space may be limited. Talk to Terry or Sue for more information.
