LOOKING FOR ARTISTS/CRAFTSMEN A project is underway by a group of local artists to establish an artist co-operative in the North Attleboro area. The plan is to create a much needed place for local artists to convene and interact as well as have an outlet to show and sell their work. Plans include monthly showings, community seminars and classes combined with a retail outlet. It is hoped that a co-operative will bring more awareness of the local arts and crafts scene to our communities and offer them a chance to interact with their artists. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL ARTISANS We are all learning about the importance of buying locally when it comes to our food – cutting down on our carbon footprints by buying close to home. This same principal applies to the other purchases in our lives. It’s amazing how good it feels to support someone in your community making a quality product. The Village Artisans Cooperative believes in the importance of a local economy, with local artisans and crafters providing unique goods that strengthen that economy’s base and improve our local culture. Buying local lowers the overall social cost of goods from production to your doorstep. Local artisans are your neighbors, colleagues and friends.
