Salado Creek Foundation Salado Neighborhoods Salado Creek: A Neighborhood Asset Salado Creek is about 40 miles long. It stretches from Camp Bullis in the north to its confluence with the San Antonio River in deep south Bexar County. Along the way, the watershed covers approximately 223 square miles, or 134,720 acres. The creek flows through three of the ten physiographic regions of Texas: the Edwards Plateau, the Blackland Prairie, and the Rio Grande Plain. A 1983 recreational analysis by UTSA states..."Within the several hundred forested acres of the floodplain is an ecosystem which is not only a self-sustaining parkland but an asset to San Antonio in the way it abates noise and air pollution, provides aesthetic relief and urban form, controls temperature and humidity, and offers a rich background in which to pursue any type of recreational activity."
