Salado Creek Foundation SCF Purpose What We Do Our bylaws require that the Salado Creek Foundation shall: 1. Foster public education, concern and awareness for the development and preservation of the Salado Creek corridor as a community resource; 2. Serve as a forum for the resolution of issues involving Salado Creek; 3. Act as a resource for public and private interests working toward the goals of wise land and water use, environmental protection, outdoor recreation, and general economic prosperity along Salado Creek; 4. Encourage a well balanced system of public and private parks, recreation, and public and private open space along the Salado Creek corridor, emphasizing both active and passive use areas. 5. Expand the local public park network by making financial, lease of land, use of easements and gifts or other types of contributions to the governmental agencies which are charged with the responsibility of maintaining public parks in the Greater San Antonio/Bexar County area; 6. Assist the private and public sectors in environmental planning, coordinating and monitoring of the creek corridor's development and its water quality and quantity to improve its economic development opportunities; 7. Inspire a community of interest and encourage cooperation among those using, developing and preserving Salado Creek; 8. Acccept, hold, administer, invest, reinvest, sell, lease, exchange, disburse, or otherwise dispose of funds or other property, in whatever form it may take, as may be received by the Corporation solely for the purposes listed above.
