Detroit Historic Neighborhoods Coalition 2009 City Council Candidates DHNC Announces Endorsements There are an overwhelming number of new candidates for City Council this election year. The Detroit Historic Neighborhoods Coalition (DHNC) gathered information from various sources to introduce its 30,000 residents to the new faces vying for these important positions. It was very difficult to narrow the field as there are many qualified candidates. We expect the Council incumbents who are running will make it through the primary and thus our focus right now is on the new people and what they can offer. After the primary we will support the best candidates whether incumbent or new contender. We felt it important to wade through the 159 pages of survey answers from the 105 candidates who responded to a community group and share with you who DHNC considers the best new candidates. Please visit the candidate's web site as well as the resources listed below for more detailed information on these and other candidates.
