Some mistakes I noticed in the NJ article of 1/15/05-

ERROR: ''He also wants to build 5,278 square feet of commercial space''

***FACT: This is off by a factor of 10. According to the plans Nichols filed with NCC Land Use, the shopping center building foot print alone is 53,278 sq. ft.

Error: ''But Scott said an initial archaeological
survey found only prehistoric artifacts and nothing that dates to the Colonial period.''

*** Fact: Kise, Straw, and Kolodner, the archeology firm hired by Nichols, has presented twice before the NCC HRB. During both presentations, Dr. Petar Glumac of KSK made it
abundantly clear that approximately 1,000 historic artifacts had been found by KSK on the 130 acres +/- that have been examined in a level one archeological survey. A good number of the 1,000 plus HISTORIC artifacts found by KSK were dated to the COLONIAL period of American history, including the specific time frame of the American
Revolutionary War.

Error: ''The plan keeps 73 percent of the property
for open space.''

***FACT: According to the NCC LU parcel view and project view website info on La Grange, it appears that only 55% of the 236.6 acres will remain as open space. Scott is reciting a percent based only on the 172.96 acres Nichols intends to develop for residential purposes.
