Oaky Doaks Square Dance Club Discussions Are Oaky-Doaks pix on line? 10-15-2006 Hello, Oaky-Doaks, Louise Slawson's son, David, has a website: www/wiki.stults.com. I have a Gallery on that website called ''Oregon Dancers.'' It's a place to go to and find out what Joe & Beth Oppendorf look like when your spouse says, ''oh, you know who they are. We danced with them last night,'' and you can't put a face with the names. Or, figure out the names of that couple who had the elvis costumes on last night. My goal is to have every Oregon Dancer's mug shot up there, along with a little bit of information about where they dance, how long they've been dancing and any dance related thing else they'd like to put up there. No addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses or other contact information. I don't want the maintenance chores ... and I don't want the website to become a ''lonely-heart's-club.'' So far, there are about 300 pictures on the website. Most taken with my camera. I've asked people to send digital or hard-copy photos and info, but only two have actually done that. Ideally, pictures would be mug shots (shoulders and heads, facing the camera) of couples or single dancers, or small groups of related dancers. A plain background is best. I can do some editing to eliminate other people and background distractions. Some dancers have said their picture was already up on the club website when I asked them to pose. I thought an Oaky-Doak told me that, but I can't find any pictures on your website. Are there pictures hididng somewhere? And if so, how would I go about getting permission to copy those pictures that are suitable over to the Oregon Dancers website? How would I get Oaky-Doaks to email or otherwise provide pictures/info for the site? If you think such a site is a good idea, please help with the fact-gathering.
